Iraq

Client Brief
A donor rehabilitated irrigation canals in Iraq in order to support the local agricultural sector, and asked Masae to leverage remote sensing tools to evaluate the impact on local crops and farmers’ profitability
Solution
Masae used Planet images and data collected on the ground to classify crop types and measure differences in NDVI (Normalised Difference Vegetation Index) and NDWI (Normalised Difference Water Index) levels between control and treatment areas.
The team managed to quantify improvements in productivity and changes in land use caused by the project and analyse which areas close to the canals had been positively impacted by the programme

Deliverable
Periodic reports summarising the key findings on the analysis carried out
