Context and Issues
An international organisation seeking to provide assistance to internally displaced persons (IDPs) needed to understand better its target beneficiaries in order to tailor efficiently its interventions in a difficult context where data is scarce.
Solution
Masae leveraged satellite imagery, open source layers and field data collected by its sister company Altai to describe IDP and host communities in all their dimensions: spatial distribution, demographics, vulnerabilities, access to infrastructure, clan / ethnical compositions, and so on.
This 360° granular community mapping was shared on a web platform, allowing geospatial visualization, filtering and export of all data layers.
